Birthday Wish list

Last year, my friend and I both wrote down birthday wish lists and swapped them with each other to get an idea of what to buy the other person (our birthdays are 6 days apart). These lists normally contain things that we really really want but refuse to buy for ourselves (because of the price or we just can't justify it) and it doesn't count if someone else buys it :P

This year, there isn't really much on my list so she's going to have to think for herself :P

In saying that, there are two things that I really want but I haven't bought because of the price. Whenever I want to buy something unnecessary, I calculate how MAC lipsticks (US prices) I could buy instead and that usually stops me from buying it! There's no logic to it other than it works :)

1) Makeup Organiser by The Makeup Box Shop.

I originally wanted the 'original makeup box' but I bought the Officeworks drawers instead (I did a blog post on them: http://shoppingqueenjen.blogspot.com.au/2012/10/makeup-storage-and-shopping-ban.html). I'd love to keep a mini box on my bedside table for my "nice" makeup :)

Price: 3-4 MAC lipsticks

2) Prada Saffiano Leather Tote:

It's just a joke! I would never expect anyone to buy me a Prada bag :P

But if everyone gave me Prada gift vouchers for the next..... 100 birthdays or so, I might be able to afford it :P

Price: Approximately 130 MAC lipsticks!

But seriously, there's really nothing I want this year and I feel bad not giving her a list! (we're the type of people who like to buy presents for other peoples birthdays but have a lot of trouble figuring out what to get!). I guess as a last resort, she could buy me these:

3) Wotnot Facial Wipes:

I'm on a shopping ban right now and I don't know if I should let myself buy these or not. I've been wanting to try them and I'm down to my last couple of Bioré makeup wipes (which by the way, are horrible!). They're fairly cheap at $7.95 for 25 wipes which is comparable to ordinary brands from Priceline.

Price: 1/2 a MAC lipstick per pack or 7 MAC lipsticks for a years supply.

What should I buy my friends who are turning 20 this year? Think: 20 year old girls, not too interested in makeup but are into bags, shoes and clothes :)

  1. I got the Wotnot wipes in my Bellabox a while ago. They're pretty good. I haven't sealed them properly and they're still moist - and they've been open for a good 2 months! You can also get them in a refillable travel container with a mirror so that could be pretty handy.
I feel jewellery is always a good present. Or many skincare?

  2. A really nice Mimco bag! They often have some great sales on their webpage.

  4. The Prada bag is soooo pretty! Buying a bag or a purse will be good, clothes are a little hard to buy unless you know exactly what they want and they're tried it on before :)

  5. personally I want a slow cooker for my 20th soon, haha a little strange yes but I have enough jewellery and can be a little picky sometimes. Those floor length mirrors which double as jewellery stands are pretty cool.

I'll go with the makeup storage/drawers. can also be used as storage for jewelry/accessories.
